Angry Summer in a Gentle Land

PEJ News - C. L. Cook - While winds more accustomed in Autumn howl about me here in green and pleasant Victoria, British Columbia, the whistling windows seem an analogy of the state of our blue and paradisiacal planet: Rent unseasonable.

?President? Harper Nixes Lebanon Peacekeepers

Yet More Canadian Carnage in Afghanistan

PEJ News - Ingmar Lee - In what has become the relentless weekly Canadian news story emanating from Afghanistan, a suicide bomber rammed his vehicle into a Canadian convoy near Kandahar, killing seven Afghan civilians injuring 30 more. Eight members of the Bush-lackey NATO marauders were injured in the blast and two Canadian soldiers,  Corporal Francisco Gomez, 44, with the Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry, based in Edmonton and Corporal Jason Patrick Warren, 29, a member of the Black Watch based in Montreal were killed.

How much longer will Canadians accept these inevitable weekly results from 'Neocon Steve' Harper's ramped up collusion in George W. Bush's attack, invasion, occupation, torture and massacre tour of Afghanistan??

One Hand Clapping: Organization Applauds Harper's Israel Position

PEJ News
- C. L. Cook - Canadian entity, the Canadian Coalition for Democracies (CCD), representing itself as " a non-partisan, multi-ethnic, multi-denominational organization" says it "applauds Stephen Harper's clarity on Middle East Crisis." Surprising, given the CCD's avowed interest in promoting peace and the spread of democracy, they would choose to support a man who considers the hundreds of violent deaths, thousands of casualties, and myriad human rights violations daily committed against civilians in Lebanon and Palestine at the hands of the Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) a "measured response" to the kidnapping of two Israeli soldiers by alleged members of the Lebanon-based, Hezzbollah. Surprising until you scratch below the Canadian Coalition's veneer.
