Mulroney Accepted Nuclear Submarine Transits in BC

John Clearwater
- November 6, 2006 - The US Navy, as the premier power-projection force of the United States, would not allow any restriction on travel in waters anywhere in the world. Their blanket position is that the entire world is the operational area for the U.S. Navy, and that there are no sovereign areas. Total freedom of movement remains non-negotiable.

Canada Feared Coup by USA Over Nanoose Bay

John Clearwater
  - November 6, 2006 - Declassified documents revealed that the as recently as 1997 the Chretien cabinet feared a possible United States-engineered overthrow of the Canadian government. The information was discovered in documents released by the U.S. Air Force in response to a Canadian access to information act request to the department of national defence. The declassified documents form part of the newly-released book ?Just Dummies: Cruise Missile Testing in Canada? by nuclear weapons specialist John Clearwater. The fears came about during the fight over the Nanoose Bay underwater weapons testing range in British Columbia. United States Navy nuclear and conventionally- powered vessels had been using the range since 12 May 1965 for testing underwater nuclear and conventional weapons systems.

Victoria's Raging Grannies Occupy Military Recruiting Office

PEJ News
- Although the media was remiss in covering this event, a dozen or more Victoria Raging Grannies yesterday peacefully occupied the recruitment office for the Canadian military in Victoria. They were supported by some local activists outside the building in their demand that no more Canadian youth, and Afghani civilians, be sacrified to the meat grinder of war. They were treated with kid gloves by the military police until they made their decision after an hour of occupation to peacefully leave the building by the back door, This was necessary because some one had placed a bicycle lock on the front door and their bolt cutters( Canadian military equipment ) were not up to the task of removing the lock. By the way, if you are worried about CSIS attending your events and filming you, their vehicle on the island is a white van with the license # 294-DKN. They didn't film the Raging Grannies.

Canada at War: You Must Remember This

PEJ News
- C. L. Cook - More than 5,000 Victorians attended American ex-president, Bill Clinton's book fair yesterday, if the Times-Colonist newspaper is to be believed. The gathered scions of the city heard the unindicted war criminal, and butt of countless lewd water-cooler comments commend Canada its rapine entanglement in Afghanistan, but urge we too further our [sic] efforts, and send more young men and women soldiers to that benighted nation to kill and die, and terrorize the too stupid to govern themselves in "our" interest locals.

Queer Birds Off My Balcony: F*ck the Snowbirds

PEJ News - C. L. Cook - So, it's begun. The promised display of Canada's killing acumen in the form of an aerial performance of the Canadian military's "ambassadors," the 'Snowbirds' is underway as I write. What I'd like to ask the doubtless thousands congregated beneath this is: "Do you favour the efforts these "birds" represent?"
