On the Way Home

PEJ News -
On the way home from a movie in Victoria BC, I crossed the road at the intersection of Arrow Road and Cedar Hill in Saanich at 9:35pm on July 10, 2009.   There was a solar energy operated crossing light that required the pedestrian to press a button to activate the flashing light.   The light was not working.

I called the Saanich police department to report the outage and was told by operator 420 that they would send someone out in the morning.   After I said that someone could be killed before then, I was told that that is the best they could do.

The best they could do?   Maybe put up an out or order sign?   It seems that for whatever, your life just doesn't matter.
