Caravan to Cuba Send Off

Goods for Cuba
- Local and international organizations are once again gearing up to participate in this year's Pastors for Peace Friendshipment Caravan to Cuba. The caravan will bring humanitarian aid to Cuba, educate communities as it travels along the way and break the U.S. blockade.

Caravan to Cuba

Dick Becker representing Pastors for Peace, the organizing force behind
the caravans for over a decade, will be speaking on U.S./Cuba relations
and what could be expected in delivering this year's aid.

Dick Becker will be with us this coming Friday, June 16  starting at
5:30 pm with a potluck and a presentation at 7:30 pm.  2994 Douglas
(BCGEU Hall) Free admission.

On Sunday, June 18th our Goods for Cuba organization with a number of
others from Saltspring, Vancouver, Bellingham, Seattle and Olympia will
converge at the Canada/US border of the Peace Arch in Blaine and cross
into the US with our Canadian aid. Since US authorities has tried to
stop us from crossing in the past we ask all our supporters to come and
join us at the border for the crossing. We will be taking the 9:00 am
ferry. The crossing will take place at around 1:00 pm.

If you would like to join please let us know so we can send you more
details. Our Goods for Cuba Organization will have vehicles to bring
people to the border and back. We will also pay for the ferry fair for
people who cannot afford it themselves.

We hope you can join us.
