[BREAKING Update] Canada Considering "Banning" Free Speech

The Washington Post is reporting on Canada's reaction to the release of allegedly accurate "banned" information coming out of the Gomery Commission appearing on the American right-wing blog site, "Captain's Quarters." At this point, the "Captain," Ed Morissey says his story is based on a single, anonymous source.The London Free Press reports that a Canadian website that re-posted the U.S. site's report is declining comment on pressure being brought to bear against them by the Canadian government. 

Inquiry official, Francois Perrault says the commission co-counsel and commission chair, Justice John Gomery are considering charging the Canadian website owner with contempt of court.

Canada does not enjoy the press protections similar to the United States' First Amendment. -{lex}
